Everything you need to know about events at the Bern Festival Hall

Catering

On-site, a wide and varied selection of food and drinks is available for takeaway at any event. You can pay by card, Twint, or cash.

wardrobe

A staffed cloakroom is available at all events. A fee of 2 Swiss francs applies per item of clothing. Please pay cashless via Twint or card. The cloakroom is open until 60 minutes after the event ends.

Prohibited items

Beverages in glass bottles, aluminum bottles, cans, PET and Tetra Pak containers, gas spray cans, staining, corrosive or otherwise harmful substances, food of any kind, drugs, liquids in glass, cans and other containers, professional cameras, video cameras and recording devices of any format, selfie sticks, laptops, tablets, weapons of any kind, objects that can be used as weapons or projectiles, laser pointers, large sports bags, bags or large backpacks, sports equipment such as roller skates or kickboards, fireworks, sparklers, smoke bombs, other pyrotechnic and Bengal lights including launching devices, animals

Items, clothing and media with racist, xenophobic, violence-glorifying or discriminatory print or content.

The site and all halls and buildings are wheelchair accessible, reachable via ramps and have passenger lifts.

Toilets

Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available and accessible on the premises.

Parking spaces

Disabled parking spaces are available on Mingerstrasse.

Lost and Found Office

The lost and found office is located at the main entrance of the festival hall on the Papiermühlestrasse side.

Twint, credit card, and cash are accepted as payment methods. An ATM is located on the grounds near the congress entrance on the side of the large exhibition halls. Depending on the type of event and the cordoned-off area, the ATM may not be directly accessible from the main hall. The nearest ATM outside the grounds is located at the Wankdorf Center, directly opposite the BERNEXPO area.

Dogs are not allowed. Exceptions are made for assistance dogs and guide dogs.

How do they travel there?

BERNEXPO is centrally located and easily accessible in the heart of Switzerland. You can reach us by public or private transport.

If possible, take the S-Bahn to Bern Wankdorf station – it's right next to the exhibition grounds. From there, take tram 9 to Guisanplatz Expo. Please check the timetable.

The BERNEXPO site is located on the A1/A6/A12 motorway. Take the "Wankdorf" exit and follow the signs for "BERNEXPO"/"expo". Over 2,500 parking spaces are available on site, some of them in the multi-story car park.

There are plenty of bicycle parking spaces available on the BERNEXPO grounds. Do you use bike sharing? The PubliBike station "Guisanplatz Expo" is located directly at the BERNEXPO grounds.

The taxi rank is located directly next to the tram stop "Guisanplatz" on Mingerstrasse.

International guests can also reach us via one of the following airports:

• Bern-Belp Airport can be reached in 15 minutes.

• Basel-Mulhouse Airport can be reached in 80 minutes.

• Zurich Airport can be reached in 80 minutes.

• Geneva Airport can be reached in 110 minutes.

The Novotel Bern Expo is located directly opposite the Bern Expo site. This 4-star hotel is ideal for business travelers and features 98 Superior and 14 Executive rooms. The tram stops right outside, and Bern's Old Town is a 7-minute walk away.

The Ibis Hotel is located right next to the Bern Expo site. This 2-star hotel features 96 air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and 24-hour service. The tram stop in front of the entrance makes the Old Town and the main train station less than 10 minutes away.

The Swissôtel Kursaal Bern, located in the center of Bern, is just a few minutes' walk from the Old Town and its attractions. The 171 newly renovated rooms impress with their modern design. The hotel also features two restaurants, a bar, a casino, and a fitness room.

The 130-room Moxy Hotel is located in the up-and-coming Wankdorf district, close to the shopping center and Stade de Suisse stadium. BERNEXPO site is also just a few minutes away on foot or by tram.

The 116 spacious studios and apartments of harry's home Hotel are located in the canton's highest tower. The in-house panoramic restaurant offers fantastic views of the Bernese Alps, including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.

The 3-star hotel is also suitable for longer stays. All rooms have a kitchenette. There is also a shared kitchen and a cozy lounge for guests to relax in.

The Hotel Jardin Bern offers a family atmosphere with its 24 rooms. This 3-star hotel is located on a quiet side street in the popular Breitenrain district, in close proximity to the Bern Expo.
